Governor Otti commissions Oris Signature Hotel in Aba, promises more support for investors

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has called on individuals and investors who relocated from Aba to other cities to return and invest in the commercial city, saying the ongoing infrastructural development and improved business environment have created fresh opportunities for investment.

The Governor made the call while commissioning a hospitality outfit built by an investor in Aba, stressing that his administration had, within the last three years, created a conducive environment that was attracting investors to Aba and Abia State generally.

Otti said the transformation recorded across the state, particularly in Aba, was a result of deliberate efforts by his administration to address infrastructural deficits and improve the city’s environment for businesses to thrive.

He recalled the condition of Port Harcourt Road in Aba before his administration came on board, describing the area as being in a deplorable state, with trees and heaps of debris obstructing the road.

According to him, his administration cleared the obstructions and debris and fixed the road, while also embarking on other infrastructural projects aimed at opening up the city and creating an enabling environment for economic activities.

The Governor said the commencement of massive infrastructural development in the state would further unlock greater investment opportunities for individuals and businesses.

He therefore urged investors and other residents who had left Aba to return and take advantage of the opportunities emerging from the city’s transformation.
Otti said the time was ripe for investment in Aba, warning that those who delayed might find it difficult to secure investment opportunities when others had taken advantage of the available space.

He assured prospective investors that the state government would continue to provide the infrastructure and conducive environment required for businesses and investments to thrive.

Governor Otti commended the investor and CEO of ORIS Signature, Owelle Greg Okafor for investing in Aba , which would create employment opportunities for the people and increase the Abia’s GDP

“I want to congratulate Owelle Greg Okafor for believing in the State and investing in this state.

“I take pride in the fact he employs thousands of Abia people and those living in Abia.

“This is going to add to the employment of Abia people, which is the number one priority for us . By the fact that it’s going to also add in our Gross Domestic Product, reduce poverty, increase the Internally Generated Revenue and provide comfort to travelers and lodgers” Otti stated.

The Mayor of Aba North , Hon. Timothy Iheke said an interview, the Mayor of Aba North, Hon. Timothy Iheke, extolled Governor Otti for creating an enabling environment that has boosted economic activities in Aba North and Abia State at large.

Hon. Iheke maintained that since the inception of the Otti administration, investors have continued to see Aba as a safe haven for their investments, adding that properties which had no value in previous years have now appreciated significantly. He commended Owelle Greg Okafor for investing in Aba.
